These compostable plastic painting boards are lighter than wood and easier for children to move around. Perfect for wet on wet or wet on dry painting and other crafts.
PAINTING BOARDS These biodegradable plastic painting boards are much easier for children to move and use than traditional wooden painting boards. Wood is heavy! These are just the best for wet-on-wet watercolor painting from our experience. The wet paper adheres nicely to the board and doesn’t shift around. Dry paper can be taped, if needed, with tape made that won’t rip your paper when removed. The boards have rounded corners and a matte-like surface that helps the wet paper and paper tape adhere. MULTI-USE AND EASY TO CLEAN These paint boards can be used for dry or wet paper. They easily wipe clean and do not need to dry out more than a few minutes, if even that. They don’t absorb water and do not warp. They are great as a modeling dough or clay board to protect your table and are great underneath young children who like to color or are learning to use block crayons for those times the crayons sweep off the page! They are also a helpful way to contain kinetic sand by keeping it off a table surface. Just lift and tilt the board over the kinetic sand bin and voila! All back where it needs to be. (We learned the hard way!) We do recommend, keeping a designated watercolor board separate from the board you use for any or everything else. WHAT SIZES DO YOU OFFER We offer four sizes. Painting Board Sizes are 3mm thick, which is approximately 0.12” (0.11811”), and have the following dimensions: 11.81''x 15.75'' (our favorite size for clay/dough) 15.75” x 21.65” (our favorite size for painting with children) 19.68''x21.65'' (good for older children and adults who want to create larger pieces) 21.65''x31.50'' HOW MANY BOARDS SHOULD I GET? You should have as many boards as you do painters, including yourself! This way you can not only join in for the fun, but also have the ability to model painting for younger kids. WHICH PAINTING BOARD SIZE SHOULD I GET? Not sure which board to get? We personally like the 15.75” x 21.65” for wet-on-wet watercolor painting when we are painting with our children because it fits the paper size we use (11x15”) while still leaving enough room to tape our paper down all the way around and catch the water that runs off the paper. You want the board to be bigger than your paper! We often use the same size for coloring with our preschoolers and kindergarteners, but tend to use the smaller 11.81''x15.75'' for clay and modeling dough, as well as coloring with older children. The remaining larger sizes are both great for adults or older children who wish to create larger pieces. Standard USA shipping, only. Allow extra time for the boards to ship to you. HOW TO COMPOST Although our Painting Boards are made of recycled material and biodegradable plastic, it is only biodegradable in a commercial compost facility, not a home bin. You will want to call your local services to find out where to compost the board, if needed.
